What’s your season?

In which season are you, and in which is your business? If you don’t know the season, then what are you doing, focusing on? Spring is a time to plant, and in summer we take care of it. Autumn is a time to reap and in winter we use it and hang on to some of it. Some business owners seem to have gotten stuck in their summer, a good time, but their business is in winter. “Good times create weak people. Weak people create bad times. Bad times create strong people. Strong people create great times”.[1]

Are you and your business aligned in seasons, or are you creating bad times?

If you are not aligned, and you are not already in failure mode, you are on the way there.

One of my clients is in a season where he wants to consolidate the business and focus on profitability after the rapid growth to-date. Another wants to build a $billion business. Two very different seasons, requiring two very different approaches by the owners.

Seasons happen. It is not influenced by politics, economic conditions, and your emotions. If you get caught in winter with the wrong preparations, you can die.

Coffee is always in season if you need to have a chat about your season…
