South Africa: Franchise Business Features
The Alternative Board Franchise
Helps forward-thinking business owners grow their businesses, increase profitability, and quality of life. TAB does this by leveraging local business advisory boards, private business coaching and proprietary strategic services: Each month, up to 10 business owners from non-competing sectors meet in a confidential setting, similar to a board of directors, to discuss the opportunities and challenges each of them face in their businesses, leveraging the collective knowledge and experience of their peers for better planning, better decision-making, improved execution and accountability towards the betterment of their businesses and their lives. The monthly peer board meeting is complemented by private coaching and world-class proprietary tools that TAB developed for business owners.
As TAB-Certified Facilitator/Coaches, our franchise owners lead these monthly business owner advisory board meetings and provide business coaching & consulting to individual members and their companies.

Experience and background of franchisees
Franchisees should have the following characteristics to enable them to make a success of their franchise:
- Typically, 40-60 years old
- Business or corporate experience that allows you to comfortably interact with business owners as peers
- Have exposure to managerial decision-making or leadership positions
- Have had experience in and control of managing a business income statement
- Have a good understanding of business and business concepts (especially financial management and decision-making) and/or some elements of coaching
Our ideal candidate:
Our most successful franchisees possess several of the following attributes:
- Significant consulting, business ownership, or business executive experience
- Motivated and driven to succeed
- Committed to achieving personal and professional growth through tenacity and hard work
- Hold themselves to a standard of high integrity and strong personal character
- Passionate about helping business owners succeed
Main activities of the TAB Franchisee / On-going Tasks:
- Facilitate monthly business owner advisory board meetings. These board members are typically business owners, CEOs, presidents, and key executives. Members share topics and give real-world, practical advice on how to solve challenges and seize new opportunities.
- Conduct individual monthly private coaching sessions with each member. TAB has proprietary tools and processes to deliver value to members.
- Present the TAB process and membership benefits to prospective members both in group and one-on-one settings.
Competitive Advantage:
The biggest advantages to owning a TAB Franchise business versus a traditional consulting business are:
- Income predictability: Under TAB’s subscription model, members pay monthly membership dues which provide a consistent cash flow that franchisees can count on from month-to-month.
- Additional income: Revenue beyond membership dues from consulting provided to TAB members and others through the TAB opportunity.
- Transferability of board membership: Equity in the TAB business is built because the members find the value in the boards and the process, not in an individual. We have a strong history of successful re-sales.
- International presence.
