This period of the year is one of the worst for productivity. People have stopped working. Maybe not physically but definitely mentally.
The past two weeks of my life have been hectic, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Amongst all the activity we had our last member event of this year. What really got me energized is that the 40 odd Business Owners that attended, know that the end of the calendar year does not mean the end of their business for the year. Read that again…
How much money did you lose out on in October and to-date in November because of the mindset, “it’s year-end”? Now add December to that number.
If you don’t know it yet, those three months comprise one quarter, 25%, of your annual business.
Now add the last number, January. Before kids go back to school and students back to varsity, productivity is not where it can and should be.
Just because people are “at work”, including Business Owners, does not mean they are working productively.
Productivity is impacted by many things, including the topics discussed at our member event –
- “Leadership without intimidation – Is it possible?”, and;
- “Lessons from failure – The upside of bad decisions: The fear of growth – I should have, but I didn’t; I did, but I shouldn’t have…”
Think about the period 1 January 2020 to date.
How has your leadership changed? How must it change for the future?
Given the uncertainty we are going through, and I specifically use the term “going through” because we are not living in it, we are going through it – all things end – what should you have, but didn’t, and did, but shouldn’t have?
These two topics are major factors in what your productivity will look like in the future.
Our members don’t sweat the future. They have fellow Business Owners from different industries sharing wisdom that they all know result in bottom line success – up to the last day of every calendar year…
