Your future depends on it

If political parties in SA were businesses, which one would you invest in? If you belong to a political party – pay membership fees, what do you get out of it? They don’t generate any income. All political parties rely on membership fees and donations to pay their salaries. All political parties rely on taxes to pay their salaries. All political parties rely on the government of the day to borrow offshore, to pay their salaries. All political parties rely on you and me to pay their salaries.

Leadership is non-existent. No-one is held accountable, in all parties, all metros, all municipalities, all departments.

Strategy is non-existent. Value cannot be described, let alone shown. Performance isn’t measured.

The school that wasn’t built, the school that still doesn’t have toilets, the road that isn’t fixed, the water problems in your area, the sewage problems in your area, the crime in your area, the lack of acceptable medical facilities in your area. These are all the responsibilities of the political party in your area.

It is not only the responsibility of the government of the day to ensure service delivery. It is the responsibility of every politician, in ever party, everywhere in our country.

Pay your taxes, business and personal. Live according to the laws of the country. Do the right thing, always.

And demand the same from politicians, not only the parties.

If you don’t see how this is business relevant, when you are not satisfied with the product you bought, or the service you received, what do you do about it? If nothing, that’s on you. If you let the provider know, good for you. If they still disappoint, you leave them.

In 2023, just do more than nothing when it comes to holding politicians from all parties accountable. Especially in your area.

Your future depends on it.
