Is your brain a record of the past, or a map to your future?

Business Owners & Leaders, how many of your thoughts, and how much of your life do you spend in survival and stress? 60 000 to 70 000. That’s how many thoughts we think every day. Of those thoughts, 90% are the same thoughts as the previous day. Most people spend 70% of their life living in survival and stress. We spend our energy where our attention goes. If we then spend our attention on the past, we also spend our energy on the past.

Business Owners & Leaders are supposed to spend their time on the future. Managers are supposed to spend their time on today. Neither should spend time in the past. And yet…

Our same thoughts as yesterday lead to the same choices, lead to the same behaviour. The same behaviour creates the same experience, and the same experience produces the same emotion. Today.

To break out of the past though, you need to have a vision for the future that defines you. Because if you don’t, you are left with your old memories, of the past.

Business Owners I work with don’t have struggling or bad businesses or businesses that need turn-around solutions. They have good businesses, and they have what they need.

But they “want” more, different, they want to get what they want.

They know it is easy to slip back to yesterday, and challenging but not impossible to spend their attention, their energy, on what they want.

They know they don’t know what they don’t know.

They want brains that are maps to their future.

They know maps consists of many routes, and that others have used some if not all those routes.

They know that other Business Owners from different industries who have used different routes, can help them get what they want.

They know it is easier when they have other Business Owners around them to hold them accountable, share ideas and experiences with each other, and “check your sanity”.

Is your brain a record of the past, or a map to your future? Who is helping you to get the best route in that map?
