Some of the Business Owners I met with this past two weeks are having the best year-end period ever. Others are the same as last year, and some are having a very quiet period. And all of them are looking forward to the future. Not one is overly concerned about uncertainty related to politics, economic growth, and global challenges. And the reason for this – business is about solving a problem for someone else and knowing that if you don’t do it better than your competitors, you will lose your clients, your business, your income, your livelihood.
Some problems that we need solved…
Hungry? Someone will sell food. Need transport? Someone will provide it. Need clothes? Someone will sell it. No matter your problem, someone will be able to solve it. At a price. Nothing is for free.
To have your problems solved you need money, that you earned.
To part with your hard-earned money, you will insist on the best value for your money. It’s not good enough to just have your problem solved. Solving your problem must be done with real value to you.
Business is not about politics. Business is about Business Owners making plans to get what they want. Yes, politics play a role, but it is up to Business Owners to get involved when politics endanger their livelihood.
Worrying takes the same amount of your time and energy then doing something about what worries you.
Get involved by starting with what you want and planning how to get it. Decide how much you want in your bank account at the end of the year. Track back where that money starts and what is involved, internal and external, and get involved to make sure you get the most of each Rand generated (Sales), in your bank account.
